Legendary UPJ wrestling coach Pat Pecora passed away Saturday night from the effects of cancer at the age of 70. He coached the Mountain Cats for 48 years, winning Division II championships in 1996 and 1999 and producing 15 national champion wrestlers and 170 All-Americans.
Pecora won eight straight PSAC championships and was the National Wrestling Coaches Association Coach of the Year four times.
In a statement, UPJ President Jem Spectar said Pecora was “a great coach, teacher, colleague, a titan of a man and a champion of Olympic proportions.”
