Chalk up win number one on the season for IUP against a high-caliber opponent, the Ashland Eagles. Beginning his 56th season of IUP play-by-play, Jack Benedict recaps the victory.
Coach Paul Tortorella was happy to get a win over a good opponent.
Tortorella says the difference in quarterback Karst Hunter from last season to this year is like night and day.
Karst Hunter threw for 176 yards and ran for 34 more. He says he and his teammates worked hard all offseason and it’s paid off.
Hunter says the offensive line led the way for IUP’s dominating ball-control attack.
IUP’s next opponent, Lock Haven, kicks off its season tomorrow at Glenville State.
