After a scrimmage last week and with injury concerns at running back, wide receiver, and in the secondary, IUP is getting set to open its season on Thursday night at Ashland.
Four of IUP’s future PSAC opponents opened their seasons last Thursday.
- Seton Hill dropped a 56-24 decision to Fairmont State.
- Clarion outscored Millersville 29-0 in the second half and beat the Marauders, 36-7. Both Clarion and Millersville are on IUP’s schedule.
- East Stroudsburg outlasted Edinboro, 24-12 despite former West Shamokin star Bo Swartz’s late touchdown in a comeback attempt. East Stroud is not on IUP’s schedule this year, but Edinboro is.
Thursday’s IUP game at Ashland is on 92.5 FM U92, kicking off at 7 PM. After opening at Ashland, IUP begins PSAC play next week at Lock Haven. They’ll play their third straight road game September 21 at Millersville, then finally have their home opener September 28 against Clarion.
