For the first time in the four seasons since the adoption of the six-game weekly series schedule, the Altoona Curve have swept a series, taking all six games from New Hampshire.
Yesterday, the Curve did it in unusual style, taking five walks, scoring two runs on wild pitches, and getting only one-hit and a sacrifice fly in a five-run 8th inning for a 5-2 win.
Altoona got four perfect innings by starter Nick Dombkowski. Jaycob Deese and Cy Nielson gave the Curve four scoreless innings to close the game, with Nielsen getting the win.
Altoona travels to Hartford, Connecticut to open a six-game series against the Yard Goats tomorrow night.
