An Indiana man pleaded guilty in federal court to drug-related crimes.
U.S. Attorney Eric Olshan announced Wednesday that after 42-year-old Lamar Johnson entered the guilty plea in court, US District Judge Kim Gibson sentenced him to sixty months in prison followed by four years of supervised release. The charges go back to a period between August of 2018 and March of last year, when Johnson conspired with others to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, and quantities of heroin and crack cocaine. Federal officials intercepted Johnson on a wiretap obtaining the drugs.
The prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces investigation. The OCDETF’s mission is to identify, disrupt and dismantle high-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs and other criminal organizations. Johnson was one of the people prosecuted from the drug sweep in March of last year as part of “Operation Lake Effect”, where 57 individuals from Western PA and eight from Washington State were charged.
