Those interested in becoming a state trooper can apply now for the job.
State Police announced that a new application cycle has opened for job applicants. Last year, Governor Josh Shapiro suspended a requirement that a prospective trooper have at least 60 college credits. Since then, the number of applications has gone up significantly. The last application period from May 8th to August 20th saw 1,743 people apply for a job.
Applicants need a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, must be at least 20 years of age at the time of application, and must be between 21 and 40 years of age to be admitted to the training academy.
Those wishing to apply can go to the state’s emplolyment website to submit their forms. The hiring cycle ends on November 27th. For more information, you can log on to PATrooper.com or psp.pa.gov.
