A Johnstown woman who pleaded guilty to drug charges in federal court last week was one of 31 defendants in a multi-state drug ring that was busted up in 2021. Members of the operation distributed heroin and cocaine base drugs in western Pennsylvania, including in Indiana County.
40-year-old Amanda Weidner pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of heroin and cocaine trafficking. She could be sentenced to as much as twenty years in prison and a fine of up to one million dollars. Sentencing is set for January 7th before U.S. District Judge Kim Gibson.
The Indiana County Drug Task Force and Indiana Borough Police were part of the multi-agency investigation breaking up the drug ring.
