United Valley, Penns Manor and Marion Center were the only three Indiana County teams to post wins on the opening night of the 2024 football season and all three dominated their respective games.
United Valley defeated Homer-Center, 46-13, at Memorial Field in Homer City. Mark Bertig had the recap from WCCS and Renda Digital TV.
Penns Manor and Marion Center started the season with shutouts, beating Conemaugh Valley, 52-0, and Portage, 21-0, respectively.
In Northern Cambria, the Colts pulled away from Purchase Line for a 34-6 victory. Todd Marino had the recap on U92.5 FM.
Cambria Heights was picked to win the Heritage Conference by the conference’s coaches and the Highlanders lived up to the billing in a 28-12 win over River Valley in Blairsville. Jake Slebodnick had the recap on Cat Country 106.3 FM.
Conemaugh Township blanked West Shamokin, 42-0, to round out the six Heritage Conference games.
