The Penguins will soon lace up the skates for the start of training camp, but coach Mike Sullivan has more on his plate than his normal NHL duties. He is also going to coach Team USA in February’s “4 Nations Face-Off”, and he has added his new Penguins assistant coach, David Quinn to his 4 Nations coaching staff. Sullivan’s coaching staff will also include his longtime friend, Flyers coach John Tortorella, and Minnesota Wild coach John Hynes, the former coach of the Pens’ minor league team in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
The 4 Nations Face-Off will be played February 12th through the 20th, while the NHL takes a mid-season break. Team USA will play against teams from Canada, Finland, and Sweden, with the games being played in Boston and Montreal.
Sullivan will also coach Team USA at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
