IUP recently received a $60,000 donation from the Beaumont Foundation for a scholarship named in honor of C. Edward Keller, a 1979 alumnus and 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.
The scholarship was established in 2015 to provide support for tuition, fees and books for full-time students enrolled in Criminology and Criminal Justice at IUP. To date, more than $500,000 in scholarship funding has been donated, with $375,000 awarded to deserving students so far and another $52,000 going to recipients this year.
This year’s recipients are:
- Samantha Bainey of Philipsburg,
- Amanda Gwinn of James Creek,
- Kylie Nease of Greensburg,
- Madison Shafron from Latrobe,
- Haylee Svidron of Monroeville,
- And Freeman Wilson of Harrisburg.
Recipients are selected by a committee within the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice based on standardized test scores which predict academic success at IUP.
