While drivers are being asked to take extra care this morning as school buses make their first runs of the year, students are asked to keep some things in mind.
State Police Public Information Officer Trooper Cliff Greenfield said that kids, if crossing in front of the bus, should look up and make eye contact with the bus driver to make sure he can see them. Greenfield offered up some other suggestions.
Greenfield added that kids should never accept rides from strangers, and if a stranger approaches you, the best thing to do is say no, and be sure to tell a parent, teacher or the bus driver.
