The Penguins yesterday announced the promotion of assistant general manager Jason Spezza to also serve as general manager of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Amanda Kessel has been promoted to manager of minor league operations and will be Spezza’s assistant GM at Wilke-Barre/Scranton. She’ll also oversee the Pens’ Wheeling team in the ECHL.
And in another promotion, Kain Tisi is the new goaltenders coach at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Finally, Mark Osiecki has been promoted to professional and NCAA scout.
The team also announced a number of new hires, most notably Kevin Elliott to replace Chris Stewart as head athletic trainer. Stewart resigned last month after 18 years with the Penguins.
And Jonathan Erlichman is the new vice president of hockey research, development, and strategy. He’s spent the past twelve years in the front office of MLB’s Tampa Bay Rays.
