A motions hearing and jury selection are scheduled for this morning for a man charged in connection with an accident in 2023.
41-year-old David Paul Dilts, Jr. faces charges connected with the crash on February 24th. Police say that he was behind the wheel of a Ford F-150 that rear-ended a state police car. After the crash, he allegedly got out of the car and aggressively approached the trooper, shouting at him. Police noticed that he had a white powdery substance around his nose and started field sobriety tests. He refused to comply and was taken into custody. As he was handcuffed, he spat a wad of tobacco into the trooper’s face.
Dilts is charged with reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, DUI-controlled substance and five summary driving counts. His hearing concerns a motion to exclude certain evidence or arguments during trial.
