For the first time this season, the Altoona Curve lost as they played in their Copa de la Diversion identity as the Los Peces Dorados, or gold fish, falling to Bowie 8-2 Friday night.
Starter Drake Fellows lasted just one inning, allowing four hits, one error and three runs. Altoona’s bullpen, led by Justin Meis and Beau Sulser, held the line to give the Curve’s offense a chance to rally. Meis struck out three in two innings and then Sulser followed with four scoreless frames of his own. Sulser struck out three in his first outing back in the Pirates organization.
The series continues tonight in Altoona with Dominicha Perachi starting for the Curve.
