The 2024 United Way fundraiser starts today with a carnival event in Downtown Indiana.
This year’s kickoff event starts at 3:00 this afternoon at the S&T Bank Parking lot across from the Indiana Borough Building at the corner of Eighth and Water Streets, and will be an all-ages carnival setting. The event will feature carnival games, food trucks, balloon art and sideshow performances from Iron City circus all leading up to the reveal of the goal for this year’s fundraiser and a performance by the band McFly and the Time Machine. There will also be a basket raffle where people can buy chances to win prizes.
2024 Campaign chairman Clinton Smith said (in an interview on Indiana in the Morning) that this year’s theme is “Reaching Greater Heights” as he has set a lofty goal for his campaign, and while he did not mention a specific amount, he did say it would be big.
The carnival starts at 3:00 PM, with the goal reveal planned for about 7:00 PM and the basket raffle winners to be announced at 8:00. Tickets are available at the door for $20 for general admission, $25 to add on two drinks on top of the admission, $10 for veterans, seniors over the age of 65 and students, with kids 12 and under admitted free.
