Alex Nedeljkovic provided a spark in net for the Penguins down the stretch last season and was rewarded in June with a two-year contract extension with an annual value of $2.5 million.
Nedeljkovic wasted no time in getting ready for the upcoming season as he worked out yesterday at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex then met with reporters to talk about his return to Pittsburgh.
Ned said he proved a lot at the end of last season after going 9-1-1 in the team’s final 11 games, and he believes the current roster can make a strong push for the playoffs this year.
Nedeljkovic also talked about his relationship with Tristan Jarry, saying they both grew stronger on and off the ice during the season.
Nedeljkovic and Jarry will compete with Joel Blomqvist, Taylor Gauthier, Filip Larsson, and Surgei Murashov for spots on the active roster when camp starts up next month.
