There’s no better story in the NFL right now than the saga of 49ers’ wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, as new reports suggest that a trade to Pittsburgh could happen at any moment.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says Pittsburgh and San Francisco have agreed to terms on a potential trade in place that would send the star wideout to Pittsburgh and that the Steelers are quote, “in a good place,” regarding an extension if a trade happens, however the 49ers need to sign off on it. NFL insider Mike Garafolo said yesterday on X that Aiyuk and the 49ers aren’t far apart on a deal, which is why they haven’t finalized a trade yet with the Steelers.
Meanwhile, the Steelers take the field one final time for training camp this morning with workouts starting at 10:30. Yesterday, the team waived/injured wideout Tarik Black who signed earlier in camp. They also claimed offensive lineman TyKeem Doss from Baltimore and waived defensive back Kalon Barnes. Doss signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and spend last season on the Ravens’ practice squad.
