At the school board meeting Wednesday night, Penns Manor Superintendent Daren Johnston said that he was excited for the new school year to start.
Johnston said that the district staff and facilities are ready to go when students return August 22nd.
Johnston added that Penns Manor students will be eligible for free breakfasts and lunches for the next school year, thanks to their participation in the Community Eligibility Provision child nutrition program. This means all standard breakfasts and lunches will be paid for, but students can still purchase items a la carte or purchase a second lunch, so the account system will still be in effect. The program will also not eliminate any prior school lunch debts. Parents are asked to continue to fill out forms for free or reduced student lunches to keep statistics for those programs.
