Fair season arrives in the area this weekend with the opening of the Dayton Fair, which got right down to business yesterday with a tractor pull event, to be followed today by horse pulling, a vespers service at 7 PM, and the crowning of the fair queen at 8.
Checking in of fair exhibits started on Friday with judging starting yesterday, there is a full slate of livestock judging and shows starting tomorrow. The fair officially opens at one o’clock tomorrow afternoon. You can check out the fair schedule at daytonfair.org.
The Indiana County Fair begins August 24th. The Ox Hill Fair kicks off September 1st and the Cookport Fair starts on September 8th.
