Trailing by four at the end of four innings, Altoona’s bats churned out seven runs in the fifth inning and that led the way to a 12-9 comeback win over Portland.
The big fifth inning was aided by a double by Carter Bins, a two-run home run by Brenden Dixon, a bases loaded walk to Abrahan Gutierrez, and two run-scoring singles by Bins and Matt Fraizer. Jackson Glenn and Kervin Pichardo also contributed home runs in the game.
Dom Perachi starts for Altoona in the fifth game of the series tonight.
