Rose Marie (Adornato) Novak, 80, Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Indiana, died Friday, August 2, 2024 at Pretty Pond Manor, Zephyrhills, FL. Born April 16, 1944, she was a daughter Sam Adornato and Catherine (Romeo) Adornato. She was the wife of Bernard R. Novak, whom she married January 28, 1967.
She was a graduate of Indiana High School and Indiana State Teachers College where she earned a B.S. in Education. Rose was a math teacher for 28 years in the Homer-Center School District.
She loved to play cards, especially Bridge, Pony and Euchre. Rose started a neighborhood monthly Monday card club that is still active after more than 40 years.
As a “Snowbird”, she was active in Zephyrhills, FL where she enjoyed swimming, singing in a chorus and playing in card groups. She was usually busy 7 days a week.
Rose was affectionately known by many for her smile and her caring and loving manner.
In addition to her husband, Rose is remembered by her children: Michelle Annas (Philip) and Stephen Novak (Patricia). Her loving grandchildren are: Lauren, Alana, Isabella, Samuel, Sophia, Emma and Liam.
She was preceded in death by her parents and the following siblings: Carmella Adornato, Concetta Stewart, Frances Servinsky and Katherine Adornato.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 9 at 10:30 AM at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, Indiana. Entombment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum.
