Residents in Homer City Borough could see taxes increase significantly in 2025.
During his report at Tuesday’s meeting, board member and property and finance committee member Rob Walbeck informed borough council that the first look at next year’s budget shows expenditures totalling approximately $200,000, which is roughly a $75,000 increase from this year’s expenses. He detailed where that added expenses came from.
This amount could result in a tax hike for borough residents, however, Walbeck said it’s still early in the process and the finance committee will continue working on reducing that number over the next few months.
In other business, council approved the closure of Elm Street from Main to Grant Streets for the Autumn Festival on October 12th. This will be the second year for the festival and will include hay rides and different bands.
