Two people were sentenced yesterday in Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas, including a man charged with fleeing and eluding police officers.
30-year-old Tyler Klapchar of Blairsville was ordered to serve six months to a year in jail for a charge of DUI, and one year of probation for each count of fleeing and resisting arrest. He was given credit for time served and paroled immediately, and the probation sentences will run concurrently. This was in connection with an incident on December 18th of last year. One month earlier, State Police had found him passed out behind the wheel of his car at the intersection of Routes 981 and 22 in Derry Township. He admitted to police at the time that he used heroin before driving.
Also sentenced yesterday was 23-year-old Zanaya Matta-Delgado of Philadelphia. He was ordered to pay fines and serve a year of probation for charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
