The chase for the Junior League Sofball World Series Championship came to a sudden stop yesterday for the Indiana 14u All-Stars lost to Poland, Ohio by a score of 5-2. Poland opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with two runs on two singles. Indiana had one run in the top of the second, then Sophia Thomas tied it at 2 with a solo homer in the third. The tie was broken when Justice Paris of Ohio hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the 5th, and that was followed by an RBI triple from Milana Mollenkopf to bring the score to 5-2.
All is not over for Indiana, though, as they play in the consolation game today against Little River-Academy, Texas in the third-place game at 12:30. Indiana Beat Texas in the first game of pool play in the World Series.
