Indiana County will receive a part of over $30 million in grant money to help upgrade traffic signals.
73 municipalities will get money through PennDOT’s “Green Light-Go” Program, which is designed to relieve congestion and improve traffic flow to increase road safety and make for a smoother ride. On many occasions, the money is used to upgrade traffic signals with the latest technology in detection, which will allow for real-time adjustments in real-time.
White Township has utilized money from the “Green Light-Go” project to upgrade traffic signals and posts at the intersection of Warren Road, Ben Franklin Road and Indian Springs Road. Now, the township will receive $542,708 to update the traffic signal at the intersection of Wayne Avenue and Indian Springs Road.
