UPDATE: Austin Brewer waived his preliminary hearing this morning. His case will now head to Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas. No word on when the trial will be held.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled today for a man charged with indecent assault.
Indiana Borough Police filed charges against 23-year-old Austin Brewer of Indiana in late May after a two-month investigation conducted by them, the county Children and Youth Services office and the District Attorney’s office. That investigation started last March. Police said Brewer allegedly sexually assaulted a child in December of 2023 at a home in Indiana Borough’s west ward. He is charged with indecent assault without consent and indecent assault of someone under 16.
He has been free on $500 cash bail. This will mark the third attempt at the preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Anthony Sottile.
