While Big Lots has announced that they will close 143 of its stores across the nation, Indiana’s location is not on that list.
Only two stores from Pennsylvania are on the list of closures by the discount department store chain. Big Lots’ stock has fallen over the past few years, and sales have dropped 10.2% between the first quarters of 2023 and 2024, meaning roughly a loss of $114 million. It has lead to concerns that the company may file for bankruptcy.
The two stores that will close are in Exton in Chester County and Clifton Heights in Delaware County. Stores in California, Washington and Arizona account for half of the closures on the list.
