The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced the recall of some vegetables sold at Aldi stores in Pennsylvania and some other states.
The recall affects jalapeno peppers sold in an 8 oz bag, green peppers sold in a three-pack bag, and green beans sold in a 16 oz bag. The FDA says that the recall was announced as the vegetables may be contaminated with Listeria, the bacteria that can cause Listeriosis. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said symptoms can run from fever and muscle aches to gastrointestinal issues that can run from days to several weeks.
Affected items were sold with the following UPC codes.
- Jalapeno, 8 oz. bag with UPC 4099100087680
- Green Peppers, 3-pack bag with UPC 4099100087598
- Green Beans, 16 oz. bag with UPC 4099100087826
If you have these items, you are advised to either throw them out or return them to Aldi for a full refund.
