Tomorrow, about 91 Penelec customers in Indiana Borough will be without power as some work is done on powerlines.
The outage will be from 7 AM to 3 PM and will affect people in the area of North 7th Street, North 8th Street, Nixon Avenue and Philadelphia Street. Those who will be affected by the outage have already received a robocall from the utility company warning them of the outage.
The reason for the outage is to move some power lines from older utility poles to new ones that are being installed by Verizon behind Philadelphia Street between North 7th and North 8th Streets. To move them safely, the lines need to be de-energized. Penelec officials are hopeful that the outage will not take the entire eight hours.
Indiana Borough advises people in the affected area to charge all electronic devices beforehand, unplug sensitive electronics to avoid damage from power surges, and make arrangements in advance if you have medical equipment or other necessary equipment that requires electricity.
