A man charged in connection with a gas station robbery in Armstrong Township in 2010 is due in court this afternoon for a preliminary hearing.
32-year-old Alexander Pelletier of Williamsport is charged with robbery-inflicting or threatening immediate injury, simple assault and attempted theft for the robbery at the BP Station on Route 422 near Shelocta. On September 17th of 2010, police said an employee was cleaning the store when Pelletier came in, demanded money and threatened to shoot the man. The employee swung a vacuum cleaner to defend himself. The employee was hurt during the ensuing scuffle. As the suspect fled, he dropped a bandana that had covered his face.
State Police used DNA evidence from the bandana to determine it was Pelletier and he was taken into custody by state troopers from the Montoursville barracks.
