Indiana’s 14U all-stars are headed to the Junior League World Series in Kirkland, Washington after beating the host team Bonanno, 7-3, Tuesday afternoon.
Doubles by Claire Brewer and Kaitlyn Houser gave Indiana a three-run lead in the third inning, and after Sophia Boyer knocked in a run with a single in the fourth, Kaylee Cass put the game out of reach with a three-run home run in the sixth. Cass also earned the win in the circle after holding Bonanno to three runs and six hits while collecting five strikeouts.

Indiana’s 14U Softball All-Stars did not let an early deficit get to them as they came back quickly and routed Stafford 12-3 this morning at the tournament in Orange, Conneticut.
After going down 2-0 in the first inning, Indiana regained the lead on the shoulders of Kaitlyn Houser’s two run homer as part of a 3-3 day at the plate with a run scored and four RBI’s. Rylin Blystone had 2 RBI’s on the day as well, and Sophia Boyer scored three runs. Rylee Mahaffee went the distance in the circle, allowing three runs on six hits with two errors and striking out six.
Indiana will play at noon today against the host team, Milford, Connecticut. If Indiana is able to beat the two-time defending East Region champions, they will play in the Junior League World Series in Taylor, Michigan.
