The embattled Secret Service director is facing bipartisan outrage for the failure to protect Donald Trump at his Pennsylvania rally.
In a House hearing today, Kimberly Cheatle testified the assassination attempt on Trump was “the most significant operational failure” of the security agency in decades. Lawmakers want to know how the gunman managed to get on a rooftop with a clear line of site to Trump, within 157 yards from the stage. To the anger of some lawmakers, Cheatle has provided few new details about the event, deferring to the ongoing investigation.
As we previously reported on Saturday, the state House of Representatives have launched a probe into the actions of state and local law enforcement agencies during the assassination attempt in Butler. You can read more about that here.
