It won’t make a difference in leadership, but Republicans now hold the majority in the state House of Representatives after the resignations of two Philadelphia-area Democrats. Representatives Donna Bullock and Stephen Kinsey have left the House, Bullock on the 15th and Kinsey the next day.
Republicans now have a 101-100 edge in the House, but the rules stipulate that Democrats will continue to hold the leadership positions, which can only change due to the results of a general election. Speaker of the House Joanna McClinton has scheduled special elections to fill the vacancies on Tuesday, September 17th.
