A special meeting of the State System Board of Governors is scheduled for today, and tuition will be the main topic on the agenda.
The virtual meeting will be held at 8:30 this morning and the purpose will be to set tuition for the 2024-25 school year. The PASSHE Board of Governors were unable to vote on tuition rates at their regularly-scheduled meeting last week due to the fact that the state budget had not been passed. The budget that was passed by both the State House and Senate and signed into law by Governor Josh Shapiro includes $620.7 million going towards the state system, which represents a 6.5% increase over the previous budget.
It’s expected that Chancellor Dan Greenstein will recommend freezing tuition rates at $7,716 a year for the 7th consecutive year.
The meeting will be open to the public. You can watch the meeting live on their YouTube page.
