PennDOT has announced the re-scheduled date for the installation of a box culvert over Marsh Run in Indiana Borough and White Township.
The new date is this Thursday, July 18th and the project will happen from 7 AM to 7 PM that day. There will be some extra traffic restrictions in the project area of Wayne Avenue, as there will be one-lane flagging operations with closures up to five minutes expected as a crane gets placed to install the box culvert. On that day, motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route.
Carter Avenue will remain closed from Wayne Avenue to South 7th Street. The planned detours using South 6th Street to Indian Springs Road to Wayne Avenue will remain in effect. There is no left turn onto Hospital Road when going south on Wayne Avenue, so that detour using Wayne Avenue and Pratt Drive to Hospital Road will continue to be utilized.
The project is projected to wrap up in October, but plans are to reopen the road in time for the Indiana County Fair in August.
