With drought-like conditions continuing, the Central Indiana County Water Authority is asking all customers in their system to voluntarily reduce water usage until further notice.
In a Facebook post, officials with the water authority say the conservation efforts go into effect at 4 o’clock this afternoon. They ask customers to limit watering flowers, grass, etc. until water levels drastically increase.
The Indiana County Municipal Services Authority made a similar announcement Monday afternoon. They, too, are asking customers to limit watering their gardens and other vegetation, as well as limiting washing cars and watering swimming pools.
Pennsylvania American Water officials have not issued a similar request; however, they did release ways to keep safety in mind during drought-like conditions. You can read them by clicking here.
