Governor Josh Shapiro has announced that a new license plate design will roll out in 2025.
The new design is meant to celebrate Pennsylvania as the birthplace of American Democracy. It will be a white license plate with blue license characters. The plate will also feature the Liberty Bell in the background and in red letters the words “Pennsylvania” and “Let Freedom Ring”. The plates will roll out starting in the spring of 2025 in advance of the 250th celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.
The plates also match the new “Welcome to Pennsylvania” signs that were unveiled yesterday. Both signs and plates will compliment the “Pennsylvania; The Great American Getaway” brand, which underscores tourism as an important part of the Governor’s economic development strategy.
