After a three-day break for the Independence Day holiday, the state House and Senate will return to work tomorrow as work on the state budget continues.
In a news conference held on Wednesday after the Senate adjourned for the break, Senator Joe Pittman said that things remain amicable between all sides in budget discussions, but he kept saying that they are working on the fine details, and those details are important to him.
While it has been six days since the budget deadline passed, Pittman anticipates that things may wrap up soon. This year is the second straight year that a budget has not been passed on time.
