S.W. Jack and Marion Center both swept their semifinal series and will open the Indiana County Youth Legion Championship Series on Monday at First Commonwealth Bank Field in Homer City.
The Drillers, who topped Homer City Post 493 in the semis, will host the first game, with first pitch at 7 PM. Game Two is on Tuesday at 6 at Marion Center, which ousted Punxsutawney Mahoning Valley from the playoffs in the semis. A decisive third game, if necessary, would be Wednesday at 7, back at First Commonwealth Bank Field.
S.W. Jack is the reigning league champion and is looking for back-to-back Indiana County Youth Legion titles. Marion Center last won it in 2021.
Both teams have already qualified for the Pennsylvania Youth Legion Western Regionals, which will begin on Friday, July 19th at First Commonwealth Bank Field, hosted by the Homer City Area Athletic Booster Club.
The Club will also host the state championship tournament July 27th through the 31st.
