48 players are expected to lace up the skates this weekend at the Penguins’ prospect development camp in Cranberry, including two former number one draft choices. Defenseman Owen Pickering and forward Brayden Yager lead the group of young aspiring pros.
Forward Ville Koivunen will be one of the most-watched players at the camp. He came to the Pens in the Jake Guentzel trade and is often compared to Guentzel.
Also at the camp will be the Pens’ two top draft choices this year, defenseman Tanner Howe and forward Harrison Brunicke, who were both taken in the second round last week.
The prospect camp runs through next Wednesday and all of the sessions are free and open to the public. It gets underway tomorrow with the goalies on the ice at 9 AM, followed by the position players split into three groups at 10, 11, and 12 noon.
