Law enforcement officials are reminding everyone to keep safe during this holiday.
Earlier this week, Indiana Borough Police Chief Justin Schawl issued a reminder of some of the laws concerning consumer fireworks in Pennsylvania, including under what conditions they can be set off.
People are also reminded to celebrate responsibly where alcohol is concerned, as police will be out in full force seeking those driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi said that people should already be thinking about how they plan on getting home if alcohol is involved in their celebrations.
Authorities say if you plan on drinking, designate a driver, call a taxi or ride share, or find a way to get home without driving to make sure that the Independence Day holiday is a good one for everyone.
