Altoona had won 13 of 16 games to close the first half of the season, but the Curve struggled at the start of the second half. They lost their 7th game in 8 tries last night and second in a row to the Harrisburg Senators, 3-1.
Bubba Chandler, who is now rated by MLB Pipeline as the Pirates’ number one prospect, is on the mound tonight for the Curve. He’s struck out ten or more in his last two starts.
Chandler and Greensboro second baseman Termarr Johnson have been added to the roster of the National League in the 25th All-Star Futures Game, to be played July 13th at 4 PM in Arlington, Texas. Chandler is rated the 52nd-best prospect in the Pipeline’s Top 100, and Johnson is 77th.
