The American Red Cross is in critical need of blood and platelet donors as numbers typically dip during the summer months.
A statement from the Red Cross said that with the spikes in travel and family outings, many people are not attending blood collection events, and they also say that the with an active tornado season predicted for this year, the number of nationwide donors will be impacted.
As an incentive to bring in donors, the Red Cross is offering a promotion with the film “Twisters” by offering up free movie tickets from Fandango and entering people in a contest to win a 2023 Ram pickup truck in the month of July, and an umbrella during the first half of the month.
In Indiana County, the next scheduled bloodmobile will be July 2nd at the Indiana Free Library from Noon to 5:00 PM. To find out more, log on to RedCrossBlood.org.
