Altoona pitcher Bubba Chandler is the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for his 10-strikeout 7-inning shutout performance against Bowie on Friday. Since coming off the injury list on May 29th, Chandler has struck out 27 batters and walked only three in 22-and-two-thirds innings, with a 2.78 ERA. He’s the first Curve pitcher since Roansy Contreras in 2021 to be named Pitcher of the Week.
Altoona begins the second half of the season on a hot streak tonight. The Curve have won 13 of their last 16 games as they host the Akron Rubberducks. Drake Fellows gets the start for the Curve.
