Altoona lost the first game of their series in Bowie last week, but the Curve won the next five, capping the series with a 7-2 win yesterday, and closing the first half of the season with 13 wins in their final 16 games.
Po-Yu Chen threw five innings of one-run baseball and struck out four Baysox batters, and all but one of the Curve’s batters had a hit. Jase Bowen had three hits and Jackson Glenn and Carter Bins both had two. Bins homered and Charles McAdoo continued his sensational start in Double-A with his second home run of the weekend.
Altoona finishes last in the Eastern League’s Southwest Division for the first half. Erie wins the division and clinches a playoff spot. Hartford won the Northeast Division.
The Curve will open a six-game series with Akron tomorrow night at PNG Field.
