Kervin Pichardo’s fourth hit of the game, a single in the 12th inning, led Altoona to a 10-8 win over Bowie last night. A night after collecting 12 hits, the Curve banged out 18 more with six batters having multiple hits.
The Curve erased a 5-1 deficit with a run in the 6th, two in the 7th on a Joe Perez two-run double, and Pichardo’s game-tying solo home run in the 8th. Each team scored a run in the 10th and again in the 11th before Pichardo’s single gave the Curve the lead for good in the 12th.
Pichardo had four hits and three RBIs. Yoyner Fajardo and Wyatt Hendrie each had three hits, and Tsung-Che Cheng, Joe Perez, and Brenden Dixon each had two. One of Dixon’s hits was a solo home run in the second inning.
Bubba Chandler gets the start for the Curve tonight in Game Four of the series.
