The state secretary of the Department of Community and Economic Development will pay a visit to Indiana County today.
Secretary Rick Siger will be at the Philly Street Candle Bar this afternoon before he takes a tour of some of the local businesses. During his visit, he will discuss how Governor Josh Shapiro is investing in business districts like Downtown Indiana through a newly proposed “Main Street Matters” program.
Indiana County Chamber of Commerce president Mark Hilliard said that one of the stops of Siger’s tour will be the First Commonwealth Bank Building at the intersection of 6th and Philadelphia Streets that will soon become the offices of the chamber, the tourist bureau and Downtown Indiana, Inc.
He says that the support that the county is providing is also a point of pride that he wants to highlight.
The visit is expected to start at 1:00 today.
