Zeke Doak and Dom Shimko had nine hits between them as Homer City Post 493 clobbered Armstrong, 20-6. Doak was 5-for-5 and Shimko 4-for-5. Brady Frazer, Eli Turk, Hayden Haight, and Eric Dinger all had hits, and Turk earned the win on the mound.
S.W. Jack scored eight runs in the third inning, highlighted by Jamison Miller’s grand slam, in a 14-0 win over Brookville Firemen’s Club. Shane McHugh threw two-and-two-thirds innings of no-hit ball and Riley George threw two-and-a-third shutout innings. Homer City’s Gage Wingard had two hits and the Drillers drew nine walks in the game.
SENIOR LEGION
Homer City Post 493 scored three runs in the 7th but couldn’t complete the comeback and lost to Trafford Post 331, 5-3. Trafford put up a single run in the first and added four more in the second inning before Michael Krejocic came on in relief to throw the final five-and-two-thirds innings of shutout baseball. Homer City outhit Trafford, 6-4, with nobody collecting more than one hit. Hunter Martin had a double for Homer City while three of Trafford’s four hits were for extra bases (a triple and two doubles). Homer City drew eight walks and Trafford batters drew six.
