Sunday turned into another busy day for first responders.
The first call was for a vehicle accident at 7:34 AM on Route 286 West in Conemaugh Township that brought Saltsburg and Tunnelton fire departments, state police and Citizens’ Ambulance.
A structure fire was also reported on Route 711 in Westmoreland County at 5:45 PM. The fire was reported at Champion Lakes Golf Course in Ligonier Valley. Clyde and Armagh-East Wheatfield fire departments were dispatched to assist at the time. Reports say that fire was seen going through the roof when crews first arrived. No injuries were reported. Blairsville was called in for stand by detail, and Armagh-East Wheatfield returned to Westmoreland County for an odor investigation at 9:15 PM.
The county water rescue team and drone team were dispatched at 11:16 PM for a reported water rescue along Washington Street in Saltsburg Borough. The two teams were called in to assist State Police. Details on this incident have not been released.
