Along with the announcement of the new adolescent facility, IRMC was presented a check from the Teddy Bear Fund Drive this morning.
Renda Media Regional Vice President Mark Bertig presented a check of $50,523 to IRMC, benefitting pediatric care at the hospital as well as the Free Care Fund at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. These were collected through donations made by community members and by local businesses.
Heather Reed talked about the importance of funding children’s healthcare, citing a personal experience with Children’s Hospital.
Reed also commended the community’s efforts in raising money for child health care.
IRMC CEO Steve Wolfe detailed a list of reasons as to why they like working with the Teddy Bear Fund Drive, but he said one of the biggest things is seeing children helping each other.
